The beginning at the end of 2013
Tis the season to start a new blog… fa la la la la, la la la la!
Christmas day is 7 sleeps away! Can you believe it? This year has gone sooo fast! My wedding is in 8 weeks and dress fitting in 3… wait, WHAT?! 3 weeks!! Breath…. Holy hell I just looked at my calendar and 3 weeks! We still have Christmas and New Years to get through plus 5 kilos I wanted to lose…
Ok ok before I get too ahead of myself I want to give you a little bit of a run down on myself and what I want to use this blog for.
I’m 31, almost a Mrs who never wanted to get married (my 25 year old self would be shocked!), I have recently bought a house this year and got myself a puppy who is nothing like I imagined. I had this vision of a cute little fluffy puppy when we moved into our house, one who loved cuddles and was as cute as a button…. I got a rude shock after about 5 weeks in, my lovely little energetic puppy started to become a naughty puppy asserting his dominance and trying to become pack leader! We’re about to look into taking away his balls to calm him down.
The fluffy puppy ‐ Maverick (the only time I can take a picture where he is still!)
Anyway, I digress.
I have a boring 9 to 5 job that pays the bills and keeps me out of trouble. I go to the gym very sporadically, sometimes 5 times a week, occasionally twice a week and then some weeks when I don’t go at all. I currently have a broken foot bone that I found out was broken 4 weeks after I broke it but that hasn’t stopped me from doing some sort of exercise.
I love food, I love all foods (except the grose stuff like tripe and offal), this is why I subscribe to the ‘if it fits your macros’ (IIFYM) type eating which was prescribed to me by the lovely, honest and inspiring Amanda, owner of Daily Dose of Fitness. This is where you break down the carb, fat and protein macros for your age, weight and activity level and eat whatever you like as long as you hit those targets daily. This way of eating allows you to be flexible with your diet and eliminate the negative feelings you may have towards certain foods as every food is basically in the fat, carb and/or protein category. It is a little more effort to plan than say your basic cookie cutter diet of chicken, brown rice and broccoli ‐ Clean Eating, I used to do this but I now tend to lean towards some easy cooking styles keeping things pretty simple but allowing myself a milo or cupcake if the occasion calls and not worry ‐ no more food anxiety! Thank you Amanda!
Speaking of food I am going to make salted caramel cupcakes tonight for my boss’s birthday morning tea. So not a baker but I am excited! I will share how they go tomorrow ‐ good or bad! Hahaha
What else? Oh yes ‐ getting married. We have pretty much planned the whole thing, no doubt I will post a blog about this soon.
Love till then xx
